Practice makes perfect right?

Spent a lot of time playing around with zentangle art this week. Mainly practicing patterns for future tangles. I looked for template books at the library as my boys printers a bit stuffed and had no luck. So practice it is for a while

  1. That is a great idea, to keep a record all in one book of the different designs. I need to do this. I see them when looking online, then forget all the different ones. This way you can look back to find one you want to use.

    • Hey it’s in my opinion a form of doodling and mindfulness. It’s a creative way of being in the moment. for me learning things dont have to be perfect or done correctly. it’s a fun way for those who dont know how to draw to still be able to create designs through patterns

      • I dig. I was doing something similar with those plastic rings you can get, which have other little plastic rings you can put inside, like cogs, and you put a pen through a hole in the cog and spin it around inside the larger ring/cog. Sounds like a doddle, but it’s actually quite hard to get decent patterns out of the thing, and requires much mindfulness.

  2. Beautiful work, first of all! Practicing definitely makes perfect-er 🙂 Quick tangent – the word “practice” comes from the Latin word “practicare” which means to perform or carry out. It’s interesting how society has put so many expectations on that word when really the definition is quite simple. I’m definitely inspired 🙂

  3. My art teacher has a book of zentangle called “The Art of Zentangle.” I used it for my own zentangle, and I really liked the patterns it had. I’m sure there’s PDF’s online, but I think it’s only about $10-$12 on Amazon or at Michael’s. (:
